About Nirvana

Probably some of you would never know and never heard of the band Nirvana which was form back in late 80’s. They rises fast but unfortunately they too falls fast. However in their short journey to fame, they crafted themselves deep into the life of music. All their music were unique, meaningful and special. Every song they sing, it fill with great elements and souls. Every plug on the guitar tell another wonderful story of a life. That’s how fantastic they are.

Nirvana were Kurt Cobain. He is the core of the band, a lead guitarist and vocalist. Most of Nirvana song were telling phrases of his life since his childhood til his last breath on earth. I won’t get into details of his life though. Maybe some of you can get to know more on Kurt Cobain on Heavier Than Heaven written by Charles R. Cross. Beside Cobain, Nirvana also made up of Krist Novoselic (fellow punk rock enthusiast), the bass player while Chad Canning was the first Nirvana drummer until Dave Grohl took over. Dave Foster, Dale Crover, Dan Peters, Jason Everman, Aaron Burckhard & Pat Smear were all part of Nirvana at times.

Nirvana released their first ever album Bleach, on Sub Pop Records for about $600 in June 1989. It featured their very pioneer song such as About A Girl, Love Buzz & Negative Creep. They went around for tour then to expand their popularity among enthusiatis fans. In May 1991, Nirvana recorded their record breaking album Nevermind, and was released on September 13, 1991. The album hits Smells Like Teen Spirit, then was labeled as athem of generation X went platinum in about 3 weeks and came out on top of Billboard 200 chart in January 1992.

After the massive tour on the album Nevermind, Nirvana released their 3rd album Incesticide which was a collection of B-sided & rarities. The album sold well too despite not much publicity were carried out to promote the album. In March 1993, Nirvana recorded their long-awaited album In Utero although the then producer DGC were not pleased with the album. It was due to the facts that In Utero does not sound as sonic as Nirvana which were recorded in just two weeks. Most of the vocal of the album were done in very short period and some were recorded in one take. After working through the difficulties with the producer, In Utero were finally being released on September 14, 1993 in United Kingdom. On September 21, 1993, In Utero were released in the United States. The foreign version were slotted with a secret track, Gallon Of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through The Strip.

Nirvana then were involved in a lot of touring around the States and Europe. They ended the last Nirvana tour in March 1, 1994 in Munich. Nirvana were officially ended on April 8, 1994, the day when Kurt Cobain body were found at his house in Seattle, Washington. He was then dead for 3 days.

Since Cobain’s death, Nirvana continue to released a number of album. It includes MTV Unplugged In New York, From The Muddy Banks Of The Wishkah, Nirvana & With The Lights Out.
